A Sweet New Place For Fellowship
Today I took my toddler and baby to Cry Freedom Missions’ new Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe. Stepping through the baby-pink door, I was greeted with a welcoming hello from the barista and the most inviting atmosphere. With any coffee shop, I am always looking out for the vibe. Where will I feel comfortable meeting a friend for a deep conversation over a cup of coffee? Where can I take my kids simply to get out of the house and have a change of scenery? Cry Freedom Missions’ Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe provided both of those things, and some.
Fellowship Is The Vibe
It is so evident that fellowship is the underlying mission of this space. There is plenty of seating and the cutest room available for party rentals. On each table you’ll find a deck of conversation cards or a family-friendly card game. There are cozy swivel chairs (perfect for those deep conversations I mentioned) next to the most delicious smelling wax melts.
For me, the best part was the little playhouse that my children could enjoy. As a stay-at-home mom, I am always looking for places that will not only welcome me, but also my children. Immediately, my toddler walked into the playhouse and began to serve me pretend ice cream. There were two floor cushions in front of a cute little library and a box of toys they could play with on the rug.
Practice What You Preach
At Cry Freedom Missions, we want to practice what we preach. We teach the clients in our long-term program to surround themselves with people who will build them up and help them become the best versions of themselves. Through this Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe, we have provided a space for others to meet with those they love for fellowship, laughter, bonding, and growth. Whether you bond with your spouse over some conversation cards, meet with your Bible study each week, or take your kids out on an ice cream date, investing in your people is worth far more than a scoop of ice cream.
